A natal chart reading can deepen you into an appreciation of your life experiences and offers an amazing way to gain greater self-understanding through what it mirrors back to you. Your astrological birth chart can be seen as a map of the energetic vibrations that were active the moment of your birth: the music of the heavens! The archetypes of the planetary bodies, along with their placements and alignments, present a symbolic language that can serve as a powerful catalyst for transformation.
Connect with the divine
My fascination lately is exploring the natal chart as a path towards deeper connection to the divine and to each other. My approach to astrology blends years of personal study in both shamanic and evolutionary astrology, alongside a deep immersion in Orthodox Christianity over the past eight years. I love exploring the interactions between these two fields. They dance together! My mystical journey with Christ has helped me understand that God continually calls us to tend to what lies seeded deep in the soul: the true self. My parallel and complementary journey with astrology has helped me to understand that the natal chart can serve as a kind of mandala that helps with that tending.
Listen to what's calling
The music of the true self often begins getting more audible as we are entering the midlife phase of our lives or during times of crisis. These are precious times in our lives when we can sense something stirring in us. The natal chart is a fantastic portal of entry that can open up a conversation that helps us explore these kinds of things. It can help us reflect on our life experiences and trust in our own inner knowing.
One’s actual self may be far from ‘real,’ since it may be profoundly alienated from one’s own deep spiritual identity. To reach one’s ‘real self’ one must, in fact, be delivered from that illusory and false ‘self’ whom we have created. – Thomas Merton
What you can expect from a reading
My planned format with readings is to start off by giving an overview of your natal chart using principles I learned in my astrology studies, including a course I took called Foundations of Astrology with Jaime Goldstein, followed by a look at how the current planetary transits may be affecting you at this time in your life, followed by some free-flowing discussion. I place special significance on the placement of the sign of Leo in a natal chart, the zodiac sign associated with the Sun, because of how it connects to creativity, joy, authentic expression, and aliveness!
incorporating the VENUS cycle
The shamanic journeying of Venus can also be something we incorporate. I have been following the Venus cycle as a way of connecting with the living sky for over five years now. The rose shaped pattern that Venus makes every eight years, from Earth’s perspective, is beautiful and symbolic and can be divided into five 19-month journeys. Venus begins and ends her symbolic dance with the Sun when she is positioned between Earth and Sun. Every 19 months or so, Venus descends as morning star and then rises as evening star before her next arrival between Earth and Sun in a different zodiac sign. This offers a wonderful pattern with which we can communicate about shedding old layers that are no longer serving us so that we can become more of our authentic selves. Preparation for a personal reading with me will include filling out a questionnaire. You can share as little or as much as you like. I will send some questions via email to you once we set up a time for your reading. This will help me prepare by giving me an idea of your background and what you may be looking for out of an astrology reading at this time in your life. Our time together will follow the general format but will be informed by your answers to the questions.
My philosophy
My philosophy with readings is to relate with you as an empowered and sovereign being who has much more self-understanding than I do about your own chart and your own life. We will explore your natal chart as the incredible mystery that it is and not as a set and unchanging blueprint or determining structure of your life.
